Holy cow! The confines were friendly indeed to the Cubs on Monday as they downed the Angels 8-1 in a makeup game. Jon Lester tossed a dominant start (7 IP, 1 ER, 6 K) to set the pace for the North Siders.

El Mago had himself a day at the plate:  2-for-4 with a HR and 3 RBI. J-Hey also went 2-for-4 while driving in 2, and Willy & Schwarbs also had two-hit days.

Carlos Gonzalez made his Cubs debut, going 1-for-3 with a run scored and making an excellent catch in right to save a couple of runs.

Edwards and Maples threw two innings of no-hit relief to finish the game for Lester.

The Rockies come to town on Tuesday to kick off a three-game set. 58 games down, 104 to go.

Go Cubs go!
