HOLY COW!

The Chicago Cubs are the
2016 NL Central Division champions!

Congratulations from all of us at CubsMagicNumber.com to the Cubs' players, coaches, front office staff, and all employees throughout the system.

This is the Cubs' sixth division title (1984, 1989, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2016) since division play began in 1969. The title earns them their first back-to-back postseason appearances since 2007-2008 -- and for the fifth time in Cubs history (1880-1882, 1885-1886, 1906-1908, 2007-2008, and 2015-2016).

In other words, it's a great time to be a Cubs fan!

It's been incredible to follow this season from the start -- thanks to those of you who've been here for the entire ride and to those of you who found us when the Cubs started off on a tear or as they piled up wins this summer. We're looking forward to covering the Cubs' playoff run and updating the Cubs Magic Number!

Here's the schedule for the NLDS (all game times TBA):
  • Game 1: Friday, October 7
  • Game 2: Saturday, October 8
  • Game 3: Monday, October 10
  • Game 4: Tuesday, October 11 (if necessary)
  • Game 5: Thursday, October 13 (if necessary)
